Shift Your Mindset

Do you believe that your intelligence is static or that you can take steps that will increase your intelligence? Unfortunately some people feel that their intelligence is static. That is disappointing considering the amount of information children learn in the first few years of life. We can continue to make tremendous improvements to our intelligence if we seek to learn and challenge ourselves with new opportunities.

Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D. provides some fascinating information about how our mindset impacts our daily lives. She discusses the differences between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset. In a fixed mindset people avoid challenges and will easily quit, but a growth mindset allows people to embrace challenges and keep pressing forward regardless of setbacks. Mrs. Dweck goes into detail about mindsets people have in business, parenting, school, and relationships. The book provides tips on how we can shift ourselves to a growth mindset that will benefit ourselves and those we love. I urge you to pick up a copy to read or listen to as soon as you can.
